CAN Europe supports regional NGOs working on promoting the solutions for South East Europe’s energy future: energy efficiency and 100% sustainable renewables. We are part of South East Europe Sustainable Energy Partnership (SEE SEP), a group of 18 NGOs who developed an energy model for 7 countries of Southeast Euope and the region as a whole.

2050 introductory previewThe South East Europe 2050 Carbon Calculator (SEE 2050 Energy Model) was developed by a team of international experts working with regional civil society groups.

The model offers a range of scenarios, demonstrating that it is feasible to have a low-carbon and efficient energy system in Southeast Europe. It is presented in the form of an online video game that allows anyone to choose the energy future of different SEE countries. By creating their own visions of the energy future, everyone who plays with the model can see that it is possible to make sensible choices about the energy future of SEE. As the technical version of the model shows, it can be done cost effectively as well.
